Hey diy Ass-kickers!
Question.
How do you spend your first waking moments?
Assuming that you’re not waking up to ACDC on your clock radio in the morning, your first waking moments are amazingly precious.
It’s when you’re not quite awake but you’re not sleeping either. It’s that space where you’re absorbing and giving your mind time to open itself up for the day and all it will bring you.
Do yourself a favour and don’t rush this time. Take a few minutes to go inside of yourself and prepare for a kick-ass day that feels awesome. Don’t move, stay in the comfort of your cozy bed, even if it means setting your alarm 5 minutes ahead of your normal time so you’re not late for work or the kids. 5 minutes is all you’re gonna need.
And as you lay there with your eyes still closed, start by thanking the Universe (or your God or spirit) for the sleep that recharged your body. I like to add in a thanks for all that I am, all that I have and all that is coming my way. Bases covered right there!
Then show your deep core some of that fine lovin’ by saying these three things to yourself:
“I love you sweet, beautiful woman, and I will do whatever I can to take care of you today.”
“I will affirm in every mirror I look in today (yes, including that first mirror when you finally get out of bed and check how crazy your hair is) that I love and accept myself no matter what.”
“I will do all I can today to experience self-acceptance and compassion, including letting go of what I know is me getting in my own way.”
Let that sink in for a minute. Really sink in.
This is your time to choose the thoughts that support you instead of letting your head race to all the things that need to be done, most of which are probably for other people.
When you feel complete with it, you can get your ass out of bed and hit the day.
Remember that while there are plenty of circumstances that can’t be changed, your thoughts and behaviors are not among them.
We all have to wake up eventually, right? Might as well use that time when your mind is open to suggestion to set yourself up for one glorious day.
Isn’t that what we all want?
And one more thing.
Unless it calms and centers you, ACDC just does not belong on your clock radio.
