Are you well into whatever it is you want to become in 2026?

I really hope you’ve held your own inner ground, the ground that helped you know what you wanted to do to improve your daily life, and you’re sticking to the commitments and routines you know will support your highest and best good.

Or, if you are like so many, maybe you’ve hit a wall already.

Maybe you’re no longer feeling motivated to do much of what sounded so great just a short time ago. You’re not alone, love. We’ve all been there, and for many, it’s something that has happened often.

But did we really lose our motivation, or did we just make, what I like to call, a surface choice?

There is a big difference. Both are about how we make our choices and how we hold ourselves to do the work required to get to where we want to be. Motivation can be fueled or maintained, or not, depending on how great the activity makes us feel. A surface choice is made out of pressure or perhaps a fear of not showing up as we are expected to. Both motivation and choices are enhanced if we go deeper to look for what we really need.

Know this…

Many of us will grasp at things that, on the surface, look good but we just can’t sustain, that’s a fact. And there is no shame in saying part-way in that a particular activity is not for you. You are there to feel good, and if it doesn’t feel good, don’t do it. You are allowed to change your mind.

But to avoid going through this shit again and again, know that there is great benefit and self-love in taking the time to get to know yourself well enough that you are confident about what’s missing from your life and what supports truly resonate with you.

The more resonance you feel, the more resolve you will have to finish what you’ve have taken on, sometimes we will still fall to our old beliefs that suggest that we’re not worth the effort to see something through. I really don’t have the time to do this. Maybe next year work won’t be so busy. My kids need me so I’ll have to bail.

Those old beliefs are from your past (ancestral or human) and can hold up a very large stop sign in your face and dismantle the resolve and resilience you have to help you make improvements in your life.

The change has to begin with you. Sit with your inner self in silence and stillness and get to know through reflection what’s controlling your choices and, therefore, your life.

Listen to the inner voice without the external human chatter. Then, use what you have learned to make choices that deeply serve you. Hold deep trust in your intuition; it’s there to guide you.

You’re looking for something different because somewhere, your needs aren’t getting met, and you aren’t feeling fulfilled. You should feel fulfilled, that’s your birthright and is worth striving for. It’s time to begin expressing your true needs to yourself first, then to others.

Do you have motivation issues? Hit reply and share how it shows itself for you. Sometimes, even just expressing yourself on paper will help you shift what’s in front of you.

Because change doesn’t happen until it comes from within.
