This weekend is American Thankgiving.
Our Thanksgiving celebration was over a month ago, but Canada being so close to the US in so many ways, and having family, friends, and clients living in the US, I like to acknowledge the celebration.
As I thought about this blog, I tripped over a fantastic quote that will help us all get into Thanksgiving shape. Snoop Dogg said this, after getting a star not the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“I want to thank me for believing in me, I want to thank me for doing all this hard work…Snoop Dogg, you a bad motherfucker” – Snoop Dogg
I love this, and I certainly couldn’t read it without sharing it! But, great coach that I am (and no it’s not self-centred to speak to your good qualities) I need to take this further than just a giggle.
Let’s take a lesson from Snoop Dogg and turn it into a challenge. Because motherfuckers (not my fav word) are people who are working hard, scoring success, kicking their own asses to make their lives into what they want them look like.
So here is your challenge…
I want you to say this quote outloud to yourself everyday for one week, every single chance you get. Using your own name of course!
Say it in the mirror while looking into your eyes each time you spend time in the bathroom. Say it in the mirror of your car, maybe not while you’re driving! Write thank you on your hand to remind yourself. Share it with a girlfriend who could really use a boost.
Because just like the Canadian Thanksgiving, the American one is about acknowledging your gratitude. And I have no doubt that, like Snoop Dogg, you are a bad motherfucker as well, so why not start with yourself?
There it is. Only one week. Words that remind you that you are worthy of your own gratitude for all you do to keep yourself real.
And hold on to this email, hit reply and share what it was like, how you felt while doing it, and if you felt any change in yourself after you were finished your week.
What do you say? Are you up for it, mother fucker?
Love you and can’t wait to hear from you!
