I want to talk about our relationship with ourselves.
Yes, there is joy in all our lives. But there are also times when we hurt, we cry, we are frustrated or resentful, we want it to be different in so many ways.
Yet, we just can’t seem to make it happen.
We run away from ourselves instead of challenging old habits and compassionately supporting ourselves to show up as the women we want to be, the women we really are.
It’s easy to blame outside sources for many of our discomforts, but the reality is that we, just us, have the ability to face a shitty experience and make changes in our lives to avoid that experience again. And we can do that by knowing that woman.
Yes, it sounds like a lot. But truthfully it’s less work than running that continuous marathon to avoid our true selves.
The big question is why are you running? What is so ugly that you believe is part of you, that makes you avoid meeting her and loving her?
What bullshit thing, person, circumstance, upbringing, words, fear, belief, longing (pick your poison), keeps you from looking her straight in the eyes and being ok with what you see.
This blog is for all of us.
It’s for every single woman who has ever stumbled or stopped herself entirely from saying “I’m done with that shit. I’m worth the effort of standing in my own shoes, looking at who I want to be, and giving myself permission to be her.”
We need to stop running. We need to face our shadows and walk with them until we realize that they really don’t have the hold over us we thought they did. They’ve simply been hiding in the background until we were ready to get past the blocks they represent for us.
It’s never the person or the circumstance, they’re just distractions from our real selves. They don’t have to control us and we don’t have to run away from her.
We have to face whatever it is that’s in the way of who we are now and who we want to be.
Take off the running shoes, sweetie, and put on those cozy slippers.
Email me and let me help you find her.
