Aligning With Your Deep Core
Hey diy Ass-kickers
So spill it…how are you feeling this week?
It’s not quite been 2 weeks since the results of the US Presidential election came down the pipe.
Honestly, I’ve never seen such a strong reaction to either an election race or the results.
It left people disappointed, shocked, fearful, angry, resentful, and sad.
Me? Probably all of the above.
I’m sure by now you’ve read all your friend’s reactions on Facebook. Maybe they are all kindred spirits to you and your beliefs, or maybe you unfriended some. Who knows.
It’s been a very interesting time, one that will be marked in history.
But here’s what I’m curious about.
What are you feeling now? Now that the results have sunk in and will be a reality?
I figure that everything that happens to us, individually or collectively, is an opportunity to learn about ourselves.
So what new awareness about you and what’s important to you do you have?
And what do you intend to do with that new awareness? Every time we learn about us and what we need to be happy and fulfilled, we owe it to ourselves to align with our beliefs. That’s connecting your actions to your deep core.
I know what I’m doing.
I’ve set my intentions to ensure that my beliefs that all lives matter, show up in my life going forward. It’s easy for me to get complacent and blame it on being too busy or that the problem is “over there” somewhere. That’s what privilege can do.
I’m not suggesting that you have to adopt my perspective about human beings, minorities, misogeny and the sexual assault of women, or the assumption that any Muslim is a terrorist.
I am suggesting that you take your learning from the past several months and days, and do something with it. Something that fits your heart and your values first. Something that brings us closer together as a humanity, rather than divide us.
What’s the action that you know you want to take going forward?
Your deep core and your community will be there to say thanks.
