Where do you express yourself?
Where do you actually say, or show how you feel inside?
Fully expressing our authentic selves is a necessary part of living a contented, full, grab-that-joy kind of life. Yet, the human sauce we all live in puts walls up around us, telling us that whatever we might say or whoever we might be, isn’t “acceptable”.
If you haven’t heard me say this yet, I’ll remind you that we can separate ourselves from the human sauce simply by using our own conscious awareness. More on that another time, but hit reply and ask how to do that if you’re tired of the sauce.
Now that you have an reminder that self-expression can lead to joy, I’ll ask again. How you do express yourself?
How do you let out of your heart and your soul what’s important to you? What you’re made of? Who you are?
How do you exude the parts of you that are waiting, sometimes not so patiently, to be seen and heard?
How do you express that energy that is the whole of who you are?
Of course, there is always using your voice. You get to do that after you’ve gone inside of yourself and found it first, of course. Then, you can express who you are and what you need in any given moment. Ultimately, using your voice is the clearest and and most understood way to express yourself. But it’s not the only one. Often using other ways to express ourselves strengthens our voice so we can use it when we are called to.
Journaling is a popular way to self-express and is used by many because it’s so healing. I like to say it’s coaching on paper.
Journaling rocks but for those of us who don’t dig keeping a journal, there are others ways to express the depth of our heart and soul for full self-expression.
Anything creative works. Painting, knitting, sewing, sculpting, gardening, building anything, cooking, baking, decor design, clothing choices, even your signature dance moves. Add your own to this list, anything goes.
I can feel the goodness as I write this…planting and growing are hugely expressive to me….diving into mother earth’s soil or using colour that is so expressive of who we are and what we want the world to know about us. Dancing is also a big one for me. If you work with me, you know that my groups all start with a dance party, and the choices of songs are very intentional.
I also feel huge goodness when I express myself in these blogs. Every post I make, even if it’s about a program that I’m offering, is an expression of what is in my heart and my soul and comes from my inner truth. The more I express, the clearer my purpose becomes to me.
When we express ourselves in any way, we see things differently and more clearly. Through increased understanding, we’re able to release more of what doesn’t serve us and make additional space for what honours us and who we are.
It’s us connecting to ourselves and allowing in complete self-acceptance and unconditional love.
So much yummy stuff there!
So allow me to offer you a prompt to create more understanding of yourself. Pick any medium you have fallen in love with and put your sense of these words out as an expression of you. Paint the picture, bake the cake, show yourself in your own way. And consider posting it on your social media and tag me so I can celebrate you! Here is your prompt…
“I am always safe to fully shine and express what my heart and soul show me every day about myself”.

“Thank you for that post, it came at a great time. Enjoying your emails."
