I wanna talk about our souls.

I visualize my soul as a likeness of me in shape and form that’s integrated with my body from behind me. When I meditate with that visualization, I feel warm, held, and deeply loved. I also feel strong and confident.

Our souls carry all that is us. All that we are authentically, without the direction that comes from everyday life. Our souls don’t care if we live in a big house, make tons of money, or wear fashionable clothes. Those things are not important to the soul that lives in our physical bodies.

What is important to our souls is that we care for ourselves first and foremost, and from there we can consciously live in this human sauce, leading with love, compassion and boundaries instead of being overwhelmed by shit that shows up in our lives.

Our soul is our guide to all that we need to be happy, peaceful and content. Yet so many of us can’t honour what we deeply know we need.

Some of that shit that shows up for us gets in the way and interferes with us being able to do what we know is right for us. And yet, doing what we know is right for us is all we really need to do.

It took me a long time to begin to honour my own soul. Before that, I took my direction from other people and circumstances outside of me. That simply kept me on the hamster wheel of ignoring myself and following what I thought I needed to do to be accepted. Learning to honour my soul by getting to know myself, using my voice, and trusting that I was ok, changed my life.

Yet still at times, I have to stop and recognize when the outer human sauce we live in is trying to direct me. If I don’t separate from that sauce and honour my soul, I can get sucked back in and let fear tell me to stay quiet.

I see that in so many women. The fear of being true to oneself is just too great to step into.

What about you?

Do you back down from things you know you need to do to honour yourself and your needs to make someone else feel good? Do you sometimes ignore taking time for yourself, like doing high-vibrational things that make you smile and giggle? When something goes south for you, do you ignore the calls to practice what you know will make you feel good, maybe lose yourself in comfort over healing?

How do you feel when any of that happens? And, how would you feel if you fully honoured all your needs or even one as a start?

Try journalling on those questions you are called to for clarity, or hit reply and share with me.

Learning to deeply honour ourselves is the greatest gift we can give ourselves. And even if you think otherwise sometimes, you always deserve to be heard and honoured.

Is there healing to be done to begin to honour ourselves fully? Yes. But the healing is in the honouring.

Will it change you like it changed me? Yes. When we see who we really are and own all of that, you will feel the magic too.

It’s simply our soul’s longing.
