I adore the holidays, and I’m in a gift-giving mood! For the next three Fridays (Dec 6, 13,& 20), I am taking email questions about how you can improve your holidays this year. Ask away about what’s bugging you or where you’re stuck and I’ll answer as quickly as I can manage, along with a big ole holiday hug from me! Find me at thewomenscoach@cravemorelife.com/
It is officially December! And you know what’s coming. The holidays!!
If you’ve been following me for awhile, you’ll know that for several years the holidays were a problem for me. I call it my time of holiday madness! Thankfully, though I still land in the madness on occasion, I don’t hang out there very long anymore. When I understood how unfulfilling the self-imposed exhaustion, stress and disappointment was, I moved on.
Lots of women are like I was with the holidays. As the best time of the year…thank you Hallmark…our expectations are high for us to feel all of it’s goodness to the extreme. Yet buttons get pushed, emotions get triggered, and we keep working our butts off at making the season great for everyone around us. Forgetting about ourselves and our needs.
We get caught up in the emotion and the perfection of the season and run with it…hard. But as we get geared up each year, we forget about what it does to us when we look for outside influences, like family expectations and traditions, holiday cards, music and movies, to tell us what our holidays should look like.
I’ve developed a little Holiday Cheat Sheet that I’m sharing now before the holidays are right up our wazoo. They always help me and can help you to avoid your own holiday madness.
I know that many women don’t like to admit that their holidays are less than perfect. That’s not loving or grateful or kind, right? Wrong! Get over it (aka change your perspective) and call your experience whatever it is. It’s not likely to be all bad, or all good. And it won’t necessarily call for full overhaul, it might need just a tweak or two. The process stays the same either way. Just be honest with yourself about where you might want to up your holiday game.
Click here if you want to turn your version of holiday madness into holiday pleasure! It’s super quick and easy and will help you create a plan for your holiday that will make it rock.
You know that making holiday change comes from you. And you know that spending time with this Holiday Cheat Sheet will increase your understanding of what you need to do to make the holiday great, because you have designed it for ourself.
If Hallmark would only made a card out of this!
