There is a reality that most of us face.
We rarely use our voices 100% of the time.
Finding and using our voices is not a learn-once-and-be-perfect-at-it kind of thing. We don’t just figure out how to do it, and apply it to every single situation in our lives.
Life is a bit too complicated for that to happen. And we are too complicated for that to happen.
We have limiting beliefs that we need to stay aware of. We have past traumas (human and ancestral) that can continue to haunt us to heal from. We have challenges from society around us all the time that we need to watch for.
Suffice to say that we have, and will continue to have, shit that comes up for us that will keep us from using our voices and expressing exactly who we are and what we need.
Sometimes it will be easy, like returning your coffee to the barista because it’s cold. Or standing up for something you believe in.
Sometimes it will be hard, like challenging the doctor when they tell you that your pain is normal. Or telling your partner you want a divorce.
And all that is perfectly ok.
Each time our voice and our ability to be who we are is challenged, we have a choice. We can decide to fall to what we know will keep us silent – the fear of conflict, not trusting ourselves, feeling undeserving of having what we really want – or we can make a conscious choice that serves us and our souls.
We’re on this planet to learn, grow, be ourselves, and have a beautiful life. All that means paying attention when blocks are placed in front of us that potentially can throw us off our game.
It’s our opportunity to calmly notice for ourselves what’s happening and then get clear about how we want to manage it. To ask the questions….What works best for me in this situation? What feels good to me? How can I manage it while honouring myself in all ways?
We are always whole. And while the path of using our voices is not completely straight, it belongs to us. It’s our unique way to keep that wholeness strong.
Love the challenges, and keep loving them. They all have a lesson in them. And you, my friend, will always know what to do about them.
