Ready to let go and chill out some?

Well hello Covid-19.

It’s just another day at the office/home.

There is laundry to be done since the underwear is running low.

There are closets that we’re supposed to clean out but who really wants to?

There are nutritious meals to be made from whatever is in the fridge, feel free to be creative and substitute any ingredient that comes to mind.

There are boobs to be flashed at those we love, or strangers if that’s your thing.
(Thanks for sharing that one, Karen!)

There are groceries to plan for so no one needs to leave the house more than necessary.

There is that 7 am trip to the LCBO…oh wait…not a senior yet.

There are driveway workouts and using your garage like it’s your new favorite space.

There is still fear, anxiety, public meltdowns, and people who are super pissed at those who won’t comply. But this is how it evolves.

Facebook is now sporting posts with our ridiculous pastimes and get to know me lists (yes I posted one myself), jokes that are really funny and some that are clearly written for someone else’s sense of humour.

I’m going with the jokes. The humour, the laughter, even the dad jokes. If it’s funny, I’m going there. Inappropriate may be my new middle name.

At times like this, we need to reach for things that make us feel ok, things that make us feel like ourselves, things that can connect us to others who are looking for themselves here in today’s new normal.

It just may be what gets us through the toughest thing this world has seen in my lifetime.

Find your humour. Find your laughter. Find those things that put a smile on your face.

And while you are there, do your best to trade out your pissy feelings about those non-complaints. You being angry won’t make them come in, but it may keep you feeling like shit about this circumstance.

And join the Virtual Wine Party! And don’t forget to BYOW.

With love for just letting go and chillin’ out. Even for just a day!

Spread the love
