I know, I know.
One day, It would be nice to open with something like “Click this link and your life will be changed immediately, with zero effort on your part”.
That’s not gonna happen…like ever. Why, you ask?
Because, a good life is not the amount of effort we put into it. It’s about us doing whatever we can to have the experiences we crave.
Sure, circumstances can get in the way. Our past traumas can haunt our current, and fill our future with fear. And our upbringing can give us a bullshit roadmap for who we need to be in order to be accepted and even loved.
But what we forget in all that is we are each sovereign over ourselves. We are our own boss.
It doesn’t matter what anyone around us thinks we should do or be. What matters is what we do and who we chose to be, and that we take responsibility for being someone that resonates with our true selves.
Our true selves won’t let anyone hold us back.
Our true selves won’t make choices that don’t serve us.
Our true selves won’t let us dishonour ourselves by ignoring our needs, wants and desires.
Both women and men can fall to the screaming from outside ourselves to take the road to the left or the right. Our true selves takes the road within.
On that road, we become clear that there isn’t anyone who can make changes to our experiences other than us.
That’s when we’ll match our needs, wants and desires with the actions needed to make them happen. That’s when we’ll take the best care of ourselves we ever have because we know our health and wellbeing is vital to living our purpose. That’s when our boundaries are not wobbly, they stand tall based on what we need. All with ease and grace.
Do yourself a solid. Grab what you want and need, and take charge.
Because that’s when life will change.
